Ron Arthur awarded life membership

Last Sunday, the 15th of December, Enfield Brass held its Christmas break-up party and awards presentation. This year’s event took on a new format, which included a short, informal performance and barbecue dinner for friends and families of the band. After the band played a selection of Christmas carols and upbeat pop tunes, a series of presentations were made.

Following a testimonial by former President Brian Doherty, former Musical Director Ron Arthur was awarded Life Membership. During his time as Musical Director, Ron developed the standard of the senior and junior bands, formed the Klemzig Oompah Band, and personally trained many of the band’s learners – many of whom have gone on to become professional musicians.

  1. I wish to contact Ron Arthur. He taught me as a junior in Parkes town Band . I want to confirm the years he was bandmaster at Parkes before he went to Dubbo

Congratulations on his life membership. Be brought many members of our community as juniors . Sadly the band is now a concert band not brass.
